Club Contests at Sussex Online Speakers

At Sussex Online Speakers, we host speech contests to celebrate and develop the talents of our members. These contests are a fantastic way to practise public speaking, gain confidence, and challenge yourself in a supportive, friendly environment.

Autumn Contest Cycle

Each autumn, we run two exciting club-level contests. Winners have the opportunity to progress through the Area, Division, and District (UK South) levels.

• Humorous Speech Contest

  Contestants deliver a prepared speech designed to entertain and amuse the audience.

• Table Topics Contest

  Participants respond to a surprise question with a short, impromptu speech—perfect for honing quick thinking and speaking skills.
